RemoteKaj is run by oLab, an Australian company. This page explains, in plain words, what we know about you, why we keep it, and how you can ask us to show it to you or remove it.
What we collect
What you give us on the forms, what your connection tells us when you sign up, and what happens on your account:
- Your WhatsApp number (it is also your login) and any second number you add.
- Your name, your age or date of birth, and the country and city you live in.
- The country, region and city your connection comes from when you sign up. We read them from the network; you are not asked.
- How you found us, who referred you, and the page you first arrived on.
- The roles you apply for and your experience level.
- Your registration payment details: the bKash number you paid from or the transaction number, a payment screenshot if you upload one, and any note you add.
- Your answers to the intro video questions.
- Your profile: the details you fill in and the work-profile links you add (for example LinkedIn or Upwork).
- The activity history of your account: when you signed in, what changed, and the notes, tags and ratings our team keeps about your progress.
- Our team may note your religion after speaking with you, only so we greet you the right way in messages. No form asks for it.
Why we keep it
To run your application, your registration and the steps that follow: to check who you are, confirm your payment, talk to you on WhatsApp, and show you the right next step. We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Where it lives and who sees it
Your records are kept in a Notion workspace run by oLab, on servers outside Bangladesh. The oLab team that runs RemoteKaj can see them. We don't share them with anyone else, except the services that help us run the site and, when you apply to its job, a company hiring through RemoteKaj:
- Notion — stores your records.
- Vercel and Upstash — run the website and its short-lived security checks (for example, how many times a number tried to sign in).
- WhatsApp — where you and our team talk.
- YouTube — plays the intro video.
- Google Analytics — counts visits and which pages are read, as totals. It gets no name, no number and nothing you type.
- A company hiring through RemoteKaj — only when you apply to its job and tick the line agreeing to it: your name, number and our team's notes about you. The line names the company, or says "a RemoteKaj client" when the job doesn't show its name.
- The AI tools our team uses — they can read these records while the team works on them.
On your device
The site keeps a few small things in your browser: your sign-in, your language, who referred you and where you first came from, an unfinished registration so you don't lose your answers, and where you stopped in the intro video. So pages still open without a connection, it also keeps a copy of your own screens for up to 14 days and of the pages you have opened until the site next updates; all of it is cleared when you sign out. Google Analytics keeps a couple of small cookies so a returning visitor and a new one are told apart. There are no advertising trackers. Signing out clears your sign-in, any unfinished registration and those offline copies.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we do.
A copy, a correction, or deletion
Send us a message on WhatsApp from the number you registered with. A person on our team answers. We can send you a copy of what we hold, correct it, or delete it.
Deleting closes your account: your profile is removed and you can no longer sign in. A short record that something happened — for example, that a payment was made — can stay in our internal activity log.
